Create Great Habits

Brush your teeth — check.

Wash your hands — check.

Say “please” and “thank you” — check.

Children are taught from an early age very basic and impactful habits. As we age, we learn different—and often less useful—habits.

We check our phones about a hundred times a day. We snack between meals. We play less and become physically stagnant.

The further we get from our formal education, the less emphasis we tend to put on sharpening our minds.

Habits can make us or break us. They can prolong or shorten our lives.

Fortunately, whether it’s childhood manners and basic hygiene, or strengthening our character, work ethic, and relationships, we get to choose new habits to develop.

What habits are you currently trying to create?

Do you want to exercise more? Would you like to make better food choices? Are you trying to make family or friends a higher priority? Do you want to learn something new every day?

If you’re trying to create any positive habits in your life, you obviously recognize their value.

Olympic athletes don’t become great during the Olympics. To be a sharper leader, you need to make learning leadership a daily and lifelong habit.
